Ben Clark is Head of Philanthropy for Australian Executor Trustees Ltd (AET) a wholly owned subsidiary of IOOF group;
Ben graduated with an Honours degree in History at the University of Melbourne (Ormond College) and commenced his first career with Christies, and later, Sotheby’s as a paintings specialist and fine art auctioneer. He transitioned into the philanthropic sector shortly after the introduction of the prescribed private fund – an Australian private foundation initiative introduced in 2001 by the Howard Government. In 2007, he was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to investigate philanthropic stabilisation funds, an innovative funding model pioneered in the US and Canada.
Ben chairs AET’s discretionary grants program which oversees $1M per annum in discretionary charitable grants per annum and is a member of the AET investment committee stewarding a charitable investment portfolio worth about $200M.
