'IGNITE' PROJECT THANK YOU!

President Robert received the following thank you from Carolyn Bowditch this week.  Arts Access Victoria were thrilled with the "Ignite" Project which our Arts Committee organised so well and was supported by our Members.  Thank you Arts Committee and those who attended!

 

 

'POSITIVE PEACE

Rob Fels has invited all members to "Experience and Learn about "Positive Peace".  This is an interactive seminar where, rather than sitting passively in an audience, you can actively be involved in learning how the Rotary Peace Academy works towards achieving "Positive Peace" in the World.

MEMBER HIGHLIGHTS

MELBOURNE INDIGENOUS TRANSITION SCHOOL FUNDRAISER

The Sheehan’s, Scalzo’s, Fishers, Smith’s (Reg) & Kerry Kornhauser attended the MITS (Melbourne Indigenous Transition School) fund raiser dinner at Carousal beside Albert Park Lake with 500 attendees.  Hamish Blake as MC (pro-bono) and event raised $225,000.

Congratulation to Chris Rodd who has been appointed Vice President of the Association Internationale de Droit des Assurances (AIDA) responsible for the Asia Pacific Region.

 

 

CONGRATULATIONS: PROFESSOR SUSAN DAVIS

Our congratulations go to our Member, Susan Davis.  Susan became President of the International Menopause Society in June this year.

 

 

FORMER MEMBER HAS NEW HOTEL IN CAIRO

In early September, Kevin Sheehan and Phil Endersbee convened a Rotary reunion with our former Club member Michel Koopman at his new hotel appointment in Cairo.

It was with great sadness to hear of the death of our highly respected Member Barry Rawlings.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the New Peninsula Church, Mt Martha (Craigie Road, Mt Martha) next Thursday 8 November at 2:00PM.
