SALLY CAPP, LORD MAYOR of MELBOURNE

It was a well-attended,  wonderful lunch meeting when Sally Capp, provided some insights to her role as Lord Mayor of Melbourne.   A special note of appreciation to Chairman, John Allen in his polished and memorised bio to Members and Guests.  Well done John.

 

 

SALLY CAPP, OUR NEW HONORARY MEMBER

Continuing a long time tradition in our Club, President Robert had great pleasure in conferring Honorary Membership on Lord Mayor Sally Capp for her term of office as Lord Mayor of Melbourne. The values and commitment to community and service are aligned in both Rotary and the office of the Lord Mayor.

HUGH GIVES AN UPDATE ON 2023

As we all know by now Melbourne is bidding for the 2023 RI Convention.   Melbourne and London are the two finalists.  Hugh Bucknall, Chair of the Club’s R100 Committee, provided us with a snapshot of the meticulous organisation created for the recent visit from the RI Selection Panel.  Our special thanks to Hugh, Phil Endersbee, Kevin Sheehan and Jason Balkin at Melbourne Convention Centre for their exceptional efforts!

Thank you Rob Helme for an update on field work performed in the Southern Highlands and Hela Province of Papua New Guinea by Peace Fellow Anggia Burchill, Gender and Protection Specialist, UNWOMEN, Papua New Guinea.

Linda Dessau AC, and Mr Anthony Howard QC invite members of the public to attend a free public lecture at Government House, Melbourne on Monday 10 December 2018.  The topic:  "The Current Major Challenges in Global Health: Innovative Solutions from Victorian Scientists".
