Thank you to Bob Fels, who chaired last week's informative, open presentation from Commander Stuart Bateson Victoria Police who gave us a frank and honest address “Modern Policing in Victoria.”

Martin Wilson, President and Braydan Willrath, Treasurer, from Melbourne City Rotaract were guests at last week's meeting.  RCM and Melbourne City Rotaract signed a cooperative Memorandum of Understanding.

Thank you to Rob Helme for his update on the Global Scholars Program for Rotary International Foundation Month.

CLUB NEWS 

Our Meeting on Wednesday, 12 December is going to be a charasmatic, cheerful, Christmas celebration with lots of chortling! This is a "must not miss" invitation to partners and friends which signals the last meeting for 2018.

Sandra Hills and Richard Skinner have created a fantastic first luncheon meeting for 2019.  This will be the first part of a double feature program presentation.  On 16 January and 30 January 2019, "The Bright Side of Life: Preparing for Our Later Years" will be presented to Members and guests to inform us all about how we can be best prepared for our later years.

President Robert is seen here receiving Certificate from PDG Peter Frueh at the Annual Paul Harris Breakfast, recognising our financial support of the End Polio Now Campaign.  Special thanks also to Robert for creating the "red" Town Hall which has been acknowledged as a fantastic innovation.

Kim Barnard, Rotary Mill Bay, Canada visited a recent luncheon meeting and has kindly written to President Robert to thank him with a special mention and thanks to Chanti Bou, for their wonderful welcome and warmth.

MULTI DISTRICT CONFERENCE

On-to-Conference: The Tradition continues Tuesday to Friday, 12-15 February, 2019.  Read on for the fantastic schedule of events dosed with food and wine - plus friendship and fun (at no cost!) Photo shows previous merry travellers.

MEMBER HIGHLIGHTS

Stephanie Woollard, founder of Seven Women, the charity in Nepal that works to empower marginalised women through education, skills training and income generation, ran a fundraiser at The Windsor Hotel on 28 November.

Air Chief Marshal Sir Angus Houston AK, AFC (Ret'd) is seen here addressing the 26th Rotary Foundation Paul Harris Breakfast gathering.  His message at the Breakfast was around leadership. A good number of our members attended. 

GROUP HIGHLIGHTS

Enormous gratitude to Reg Smith!  His genuine support and care for everyone was felt at Malvern Group's Christmas Dinner at Kooyong.  It was wonderful to see John and Frances Reynolds (here with Peter Habersberger).  John will be celebrating his 100th Birthday in our 100th Birthday year!!

Group Captain Malcolm Simpson and Patricia convened a stunning and memorable end of year luncheon at the Olivigna winery/restaurant in Warrandyte last Sunday week.
