LAST WEEK'S MEETING

This week we enjoyed the second instalment of the “Looking on the bright side of life” series with the opportunity for Members to hear from two experienced professionals who operate in the aged care domain followed by excellent questions from Members.

There have been many Rotarians and groups working hard to have Melbourne recognised as the BEST city to host the RI Convention 2023.  However,  there is ONE person we need to appreciate and thank ..... that is our Hugh!

Save the Date!  The Arts Committee has announced their Symphonic Celebration at Myer Music Bowl is a free concert and we are all invited.  At 6.00 pm, bring your family and picnic on the lawns before the concert commences at 7.30 pm.  Gates open at 4.30 pm.

President Robert is leading the way by inviting his friends and colleagues to the 49th Angus Mitchell Oration by Dr Tilman Ruff AM, Nobel Peace Laureate .  This is going to be a brilliant lunch meeting on Wednesday, 20 February.  Bookings must be made with Jo please.

The Breakfast topic for discussion at this year's IWD Breakfast:  "Let's Work Together: Celebrating Difference" will be discussed and explored by high profile presenters and Moderator.  Panellist Josh Bornstein, Principal Lawyer at Maurice Blackburn (pictured).

GROUP NEWS

Cool sea breezes, beautiful home and garden, the Malvern Group enjoyed a lovely lunch hosted by Mike and Sharann Johnson at Flinders yesterday.  Thirteen around the table with lively conversation and much laughter.  We paid tribute to Rotary Melbourne for bringing us together in friendship.

DIARISE FOR NEXT YEAR!

Editor was one of the four Rotarians who took a grandchild to Werribee Park Open Zoo Refugee Picnic on 26 January.  This was a terrific 3 hours spent meeting Refugee families and was obviously greatly appreciated by the organisers.  Let us all make an effort to attend next year's zoo visit with our families.
