RI PRESIDENT MARK MALONEY & GAY

Both Gay and Mark addressed our Members at a very special lunch meeting with 96 Members, DG Grant Hocking and Guests. Gay was entertaining, light and bright sharing her memories of a different type of football in her youth.  

 

 

RIVER RED GUM for RI PRESIDENT

Rotary Park on the morning of Wednesday, 25 September was abuzz with Rotarians and Guests as the RI President Mark Maloney and his wife Gay unveiled the plaque at the foot of a River Red Gum Eucalyptus tree planted in his honour.  Photo shows our President Kevin with Mark Maloney.

 

 

SCOTTISH PRESIDENT VISITS US

PP Robert Fisher welcomed a Rotary Guest last week and enjoyed the Scottish accent.  President of Rotary Dumfries, Devorgilla, Scotland looked happy too conversing in "Sc(ɔ)ish" with Robert.

Hon Secretary Reg Smith passed on an invitation from the HUSH Foundation and Gathering of Kindness to the launch of the latest album produced by Tony Gould AM and Tony Petrucci on Sunday 6 October.  Reg said the music will be lovely and we are all invited.

October is End Polio Now month. Saturday, 19 October commencing at 10am –join Rotarians and Friends for a 5km walk, or do as much as you can.  Walk Your Way - quick or slow.  Everyone is welcome.

 

 

IT'S THE END OF THE LINE FOR POLIO!

Polio Train Ride Thursday 24 October – This event will be leaving from Train stations across our district (Bendigo, Brighton, Werribee and Caufield) with the aim to meet at Fed Square Melbourne at 2.30 pm.  All 4 Victorian Rotary Districts are invited to join in this adventure.

R100 UPDATE CHRISTCHURCH CONFERENCE

Thank you to Hugh Bucknall for the update on R100 activities which were presented by President Kevin and Hugh at last weekend's Rotary Conference in Christchurch, NZ.

 

 

WHAT IS OUR PRESIDENT DOING?

You can decide what is really happening here but according to President Kevin: "What happened in Christchurch's Casa Publica restaurant stays across the ditch! But it was a great dinner!"  Mmm!

 

 

CENTENARY BATON IS NOW LAUNCHED!

The imagination of Linda Humphries (D9820) (Pic.) has created a fabulous activity for Rotary's centenary; a Baton Relay linking all Clubs and Districts from now until the centenary year in 2021. Well done Linda for creating a centenary project that Connects Rotary and the community.
