COOMBE YARRA VALLEY MEETING

This week's special Partner's Day lunch meeting will be presented by Daniel Johnson, Business Development and Melba Estate Manager at Coombe, Yarra Valley commencing at 10.30 am for the 11.00 am mansion and garden tour to commence with lunch around 12.15pm "with a glass of something nice to start". Those who arrive early can enjoy morning tea.

IT'S THE END OF THE LINE FOR POLIO!

Polio Train Ride Thursday 24 October – This event will be leaving from Train stations across our district (Bendigo, Brighton, Werribee and Caufield) with the aim to meet at Fed Square Melbourne at 2.30 pm.  All 4 Victorian Rotary Districts are invited to join in this adventure.

 

 

'IGNITE' PROJECT 2019

Rotary Melbourne is once again supporting Arts Access Victoria through the exciting “Ignite” Project. 

 

 

D9800 FOUNDATION DINNER 2019

A Celebration of The Rotary Foundation Past Rotary International President and Chair Elect of The Rotary Foundation, K.R. “Ravi” Ravindran will be the special guest at a dinner on Wednesday 13 November at the Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club.

October is End Polio Now month. Saturday, 19 October commencing at 10am –join Rotarians and Friends for a 5km walk, or do as much as you can.  Walk Your Way - quick or slow.  Everyone is welcome.

Foot slogging volunteers thanked the R100 Socks for maintaining comfort of feet, ankles, legs and spines at the recent Around the Bay.  Not sure left from right - Ari Talantis and Pam Brown!

WATCHING THE BATON!

D9800 Rotarians know that 2021 is the centenary of Rotary 100 Years in Australasia. This month DG Grant Hocking is out and about visiting Rotarians with a prototype of a Centenary baton. The pictures show where it has been so far this month. More to come.

CANTERBURY WAVERLEY GROUP

Thank you Bill Pickett for providing the wonderful photos of Robin and Liz Reid's beautiful gardens which the Canterbury Waverley Group enjoyed before dinner at a nearby restaurant (Yu and Restaurant; highly recommended as they had upstairs room to make their own noise - all for a modest cost).

PP Robert Fisher has sent Editor the following: "As part of our special relationship with Melbourne City Rotaract Club, we have financially supported their Birthing Kit Foundation event next Tuesday evening 15 October between 6pm and 9pm at The Hub in Docklands.

 

 

A TASTE OF AFRICA

Rotary Albert Park's Matthew and Stella Proctor are inviting all Members and partners to an extravaganza of African food, culture, art, music and dance! Matthew wrote: "We'll be serving food from 5 different regions of Africa, showcasing a number of important and life-changing Rotary projects (not just our own), and providing a night of fun and entertainment."
