HANA ASSAFIRI OAM

Our Evening Meeting team is very pleased to have Hana AssAfiri OAM present "A New Caucus" at the next Evening Meeting on Thursday, 28 November.  Hana is acknowledged as a compassionate and unspoken hero within the Victorian community, celebrated for both her generosity and success as a businesswoman.

ALEXIA RIDGWAY - GLOBAL SCHOLAR

Alexia Ridgway, District Rotary Postgraduate Global Scholar absolutely held our attention at last week's meeting.  Her presentation was sobering and of extreme importance.  Alexia is seen here with our highly respected Bob Fels at question time.

 

 

'AROUND THE BAY' CHEQUE to SMITH FAMILY

Twenty thousand, seven hundred and fifty Dollars!  President Kevin is seen here with Tim Haliburton, Fundraising Manager, Smith Family as he happily accepts funds raised by the fantastic volunteers and the terrific work done by our Trevor Nink and Jim Orchard yet again at the 2019 Around the Bay.  A record total raised including online donations of $23,450!!

Rob Helme is seeking some support especially with contacts for our indigenous community to facilitate the proposed session on Indigenous reconciliation. COLLECTING FOREIGN CURRENCY

Members are reminded that we are collecting foreign currency - both notes and coins as a fundraiser for our R100 International Pacific Immunisation Project.

BALWYN GROUP

The Balwyn Group met on Thursday evening at the home of Kelton and Wendy Dennis and enjoyed the conversation and sharing of fellowship.  The weather was also a "hot" topic as Thursday was a scorcher.  Note the photo of the red sunset.

A teacher called to see young gir's mother about her work at school.  "I want to speak to your mother, dear," said the teacher.  "She ain't here" replied the girl.  "Isn't, not ain't" the teacher replied.  "Where's your grammar?" the teacher corrected her.  "She ain't here either," said the girl!
