OUR FIRST LIVE PRESENTATION

Our first live presentation was last week when our Honorary Member, Laureate Professor Peter Doherty AC, Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity, spoke on the Impact of the Covid-19 Virus, why flattening the curve matters and how we can best protect ourselves and the community.

CLUB NEWS

President Kevin has conveyed that we are holding our 35th Regular Meeting of the year via Zoom Video Conferencing where our guest speaker is our own David Kram who will illuminate us on "Rotary in India and How do the Arts Benefit Society". Kevin will email us with details for our Zoom connection.

Last week's live presentation via our Rotary Melbourne Facebook site reached 4,165 people, 45 viewers shared our presentation to their Facebook pages, and the fantastic success of Professor Peter Doherty and Rotary Melbourne's presentation was viewed by 3,100 plus people!  These statistics were taken on Saturday, from our Facebook page.

President Kevin received the following message from Her Excellency the Governor of Victoria, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, and Mr Anthony Howard AM, QC.  Our Honorary Member is seen here welcoming us to the Hush Foundation's visit to Government House last year.

We also received thanks from sponsors: "Well done to you and the Committee for organizing such a 1st class event again this year. The impact from the excellent panel of speakers and program was at the highest level.  In my four years of attendance I felt this was the most impactful and successful program yet, well done to all! 'WHERE ARE THE R100 SOCKS?'

Ritual was still part of our meeting and President Kevin Sheehan presented Prof Peter Doherty AC with the now traditional gift of R100 socks!  Onwards and Upwards!  

Here he is 'cruising' the Great Ocean Road to Apollo Bay.  He makes them, he sells, he wears them -- R100 Socks! Thanks Phil Endersbee loyal Photographic Competition participant!

"Adelaide Botanical Gardens Fire Gardens display - excellent!" Clive's R100 socks really are very fortunate to be taken to the most spectacular places!
