15 JULY 2020 - DID YOU KNOW?

Charter Member, James MacDougall had the Classification of Wire Manufacturer.  He established the Australian Nail Company in 1889 and expanded his company to manufacturing barbed wire and was the Army's largest supplier.  He merged the company with Rylands Bros in 1921 which was absorbed into BHP in 1925.

Thank you to our Director, New & Emerging Members, Chanti Bou for inviting interested Members to the new Member Seminar conducted by our Past District Governor 2015/2016 Ms Julie Mason on Saturday, 1 August at 11am - 12noon via Zoom.  At time of launching Bulletin, five of our Members have accepted Chanti's invitation.

Jim Orchard has been writing to previous years' volunteers regarding the forthcoming 2020 Around the Bay.  I am sharing his message with all Members in the hope we enlist the support of even more Rotarians and families this year.

 

 

PROJECT PROFILING & PROMOTION

Nina Hunter, in a new role of Communications & Strategy Implementation's leader in "Project Profiling and Promotion", is asking Chairs of Committees to prepare for contact from her requesting members that she is profiling our Rotary Melbourne projects and seeking latest project information, photos and videos for project promotion.

BUSHFIRE RELIEF

The Trauma Recovery Committee will be meeting on Thursday 23 July at 4:00 pm on Zoom.

We are beginning a project to deliver mental health support to the Bushfire areas and are looking for people with executive and coordination skills who are interested in humanitarian work.
