PRESIDENT "PRESSURE"

For Rotary Presidents, there are all sorts of "pressures" to be overcome, but nothing as difficult as the pressure our President Marion Macleod experienced in "silencing" her friend, Chilli, at last week's meeting.  Backdrop is not Marion's abode but where Chilli takes Marion for Chilli's favourite walk: Convent Gallery, Abbotsford.

PP Quin Scalzo received a terrific update from Ed Tudor (our Vocational Service Awardee 2018/19) sharing some important and exciting news: Melbourne Indigenous Transition School will operate from a temporary Darwin Hub in Term 3.

MENTORING AMBULANCE VICTORIA

Due to COVID-19, the Rotary Ambulance Victoria Mentoring Program commencement for 2020/21 has been delayed but good news is that it is being launched now 29 July.  We wish our two Rotary Melbourne Mentors, Richard Skinner and Graham O'Donnell a successful inspirational year working with our highly respected Ambulance Victoria.

MUCH MIRTH at COFFEE WITH PRESIDENT

David Hayes hosted our regular Friday morning Coffee with President. Many smiles as picture shows. What do you do at 10.30 on Friday mornings?  Can't be as enjoyable as Coffee with President.  Our friendships and fellowships are even more important during this self-isolation.  This is such a good way to meet up with your fellow Melbourne Rotarians.

10.30am every Friday, with a coffee or tea, a biscuit, cake or pastry ... no one can see you!  Come online and enjoy some light conversation with President Marion.  Join Zoom Meeting  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/3096547242

WHY SAFE FAMILIES IS SO RELEVANT

Sunday, 26 July "The Age" John Sylvester teamed with our Victoria Police Ass. Commissioner for Family Violence, Dean McWhirter writing "The Scandal Behind Locked Doors" and said:  "We encourage third-party reporting.  It is OK to report on someone's behalf if it is safe for you and safe for them." (This endorses our Rotary Safe Families message).

'WHERE ARE THE R100 SOCKS?'

R100 SOCKS PROTECTION from COVID-19!

I bet none of us ever considered that our trusty feet protection and warmers could save our life!   This is how Editor wears her R100 socks!  Me thinks too much time on my hands in isolation!  Instructions over page.

MEMBER HIGHLIGHTS

MEMBERS CONTRIBUTIONS ARE RECOGNISED

President Marion via Trevor Nink, sent Editor a fascinating item from July issue of "Company Director" magazine.  It highlights the relevance of Rotary Melbourne Members and Speakers to the big issues of our day.  Ian Hamm is pictured.
