UPDATES ON OUR PROJECTS
WHY SAFE FAMILIES IS SO RELEVANT
Sunday, 26 July "The Age" John Sylvester teamed with our Victoria Police Ass. Commissioner for Family Violence, Dean McWhirter writing "The Scandal Behind Locked Doors" and said: "We encourage third-party reporting. It is OK to report on someone's behalf if it is safe for you and safe for them." (This endorses our Rotary Safe Families message).
UPDATE FROM MITS
PP Quin Scalzo received a terrific update from Ed Tudor (our Vocational Service Awardee 2018/19) sharing some important and exciting news: Melbourne Indigenous Transition School will operate from a temporary Darwin Hub in Term 3.
Supporting the Environment
In June this year, Rotary International and the Rotary Foundation announced our Seventh Area of Focus - Supporting the Environment. Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus now cover all seventeen United Nation Sustainable Development Goals.
AROUND THE BAY RIDES AGAIN
Jim Orchard has been writing to previous years' volunteers regarding the forthcoming 2020 Around the Bay. I am sharing his message with all Members in the hope we enlist the support of even more Rotarians and families this year.
