At last week's meeting, thanks was given by Peter Dakin which was very appropriate in this time of great concern for our elderly citizens.

President Marion shared: One of the first Catholics to join Rotary was Father Jeremiah Murphy SJ, the Rector of Newman College in the University of Melbourne. He was a delightful person, friendly, urbane, witty, and a great conversationalist. Members vied with each other to sit at his table to enjoy his company. He was nominated to Rotary Melbourne by Professor Osborne!

PROSPECTIVE NEW MEMBERSHIP EVENT

Guest speakers Jim Orchard and Debra Yin Foo will provide participants valuable insights into retirement opportunities including considering membership of Rotary Melbourne.

Greg Ross, Australian Chair of Rotary Health has provided an update on Australian Rotary Health since 1981 and its creation.

This terrific fundraiser is so appropriate all round by fundraising for Rotary and providing income to disadvantaged communities in Uganda who are making these colourful masks. PP Barry Hickman, Rotary Brighton has sent us an invitation to be part of this project.

The Rotary Zone 8 Conference is going virtual in this year of pandemic. Registration details are over page. Alice Springs, 19 and 20 September, 2020.
