CLUB NEWS & REMINDERS
VERY SPECIAL REQUEST FROM TREVOR NINK
Calling all generous Rotary members with holiday properties. Can you spare a week or a long weekend in the months ahead to offer your beach or rural house as a prize in our very exciting Around the Bay Silent Auction for the disadvantaged kids of The Smith Family? This could be a week in the upcoming peak summer season, or a week in the off peak season next year? Even a long weekend when you property is vacant at some time ahead? Obviously it depends on the relaxing of isolation rules in the coming months. We can’t let the kids fall too far behind. Please let Kevin Sheehan, Trevor Nink or Kerry Kornhauser know what you can do – it will be greatly appreciated.
WELCOME SARAH
We welcomed Sarah Macleod Bourke last month when her mother, President Marion Macleod, inducted her to Rotary Melbourne. This was a delightful moment in Rotary Melbourne history - mother daughter memberships!
WHAT TERRIFIC FEEDBACK
For those who attended last week's "Navigating Challenges and Opportunities in Retirement" created by Chanti Bou, Serena Low and our Membership Team, you know how much you enjoyed the event. Debra Yin Foo and Jim Orchard presentations were much appreciated as you will see from the many favourable comments. Note the comment from a visiting Rotarian from Germany who attended at 5.00 am!
TRIPLE SAPPHIRE PAUL HARRIS FELLOW
We all congratulate and thank PP Robert Fisher. Robert was named a Paul Harris Fellow Triple Sapphire at last week's meeting. What an outstanding Rotarian in every direction!
SPECIAL 2020 RM RAFFLE
Please purchase your Raffle Tickets via link overpage! First Prize: $2,000 of Bicycle and/or Accessories. We will not be conquered by COVID-19, and the Around the Bay Team has created a special fundraiser with three events including The Raffle, to raise the $25,000 target that Rotary Melbourne has set, to donate to the disadvantaged children in the Smith Family's "Learning for Life Program".
