FLOREY INSTITUTE - PARKINSON'S DISEASE

We were fascinated in the simply marvellous presentation which raised our awareness in the cutting-edge Parkinson's disease research being undertaken by the two young researchers from the Florey Institute at last week's meeting.

OUR QUIET HERO RUTH CARLOS-MARTINEZ

The Rotary Foundation Global Grant project - water pipeline distribution with Toilets, Drinking Water Stations, Wash Stands, community water collection sites is fortunate to have the commitment and skills of Ruth Carlos-Martinez (seen here with former RI President Ian Riseley) in the Philippines.

Trevor Nink has advised that the scheduled date for Rotary Melbourne's Around the Bay 2021 is Sunday 3 October, the day of Daylight Saving commencement. Please diarise and prepare for volunteering or riding! 

 

 

 

AMBASSADOR CLUBS UPDATE

Editor and Rotary Melbourne are very pleased to welcome another 10 Rotary Clubs to the Rotary SAFE Families Ambassador Club Program - Caulfield, Malvern, Doncaster, Yarraville, Bateman's Bay, Brunswick Tullamarine, Keilor, Mt Eliza, Mt Martha, Wyndham.  All committed to Stopping Abuse in Families Everywhere!

 

 

 

EMPOWERING YOUTH CAMBODIA

Wonderful work being achieved by David Hayes, Project Leader as he works to "Empowering Youth in Cambodia".

 

 

 

FOUNDATION GRANTS SEMINAR

District 9800 is welcoming all Rotarians who would like to know how to be apply for a Rotary Foundation Grant for their Club eg. Rotary Melbourne, to register for the workshops being held online on the following dates: Thursday June 17 at 7.30pm or Sunday June 20 at 3.00pm.

EDITOR OUT & ABOUT

After five weeks of driving through the most marvellous areas of autumnal Beechworth, Southern Highlands (Bowral, Moss Vale, Kangaroo Valley) to Bateman's Bay with untouched towns of Mogo, Moruya and Milton, Editor took a swift drive home in time to be locked up!  My thanks to Jo for creating five Bulletins.  First time Editor has missed creating a Bulletin in five years.
