LAST WEEK'S MEETING

There were so many fantastic achievements, updates and moments at last week's VP Reporting Day Meeting.  Members, Vice Presidents Pam Brown and Chris Stilwell and all Directors should be very proud of the amazing work that our Chairs and Project Leaders have achieved in the most challenging year in our history. 

Last week's Vice President Reporting Day success was even greater when we saw four new Rotarians inducted into our membership. Hoping to hear more from our newest members in Bulletin.  They are (l-r) Dr Jim Barry, Ramona Martinovici, Sana Malik, Cameron Glover with President Marion. WELCOME!

CLUB NEWS & PROJECTS

Robert Fisher who is a major supporter to Afri-Aus Care, has received appeal from Selba Gondoza Luka, CEO at Afri-Aus Care, for office chairs that one of our members might be able to access, surplus to requirements. They need a total of 8 as pictured: three for their office, three for the counselling room and two for the general area. Responses to Robert on 0417 101 314 please.

Nominations for this year's Vocational Service Award are required by 30 June, 2021. Pic. shows 2020 Awardee, Professor Sharon Lewin AO, inaugural Director of the Doherty Institute; Melbourne Laureate Professor of Medicine at The University of Melbourne; National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Practitioner Fellow; Chief Investigator in the Australian Partnership for Preparedness Research on Infectious Diseases Emergencies (APPRISE).

MEMBER HIGHLIGHTS

This Bulletin is Editor's last Bulletin. It is time for me to have a weekend away from my desk. I have not missed creating a Bulletin for the past five years (other than five weeks in May).

PP JACK MELBOURNE

It is with great sadness, that we have learnt that our Past President Jack Melbourne (1999-00) has died. There will be a Rotary Melbourne notice from President Marion in The Age and for those who would like to attend Jack's funeral. It will be held 10.30am at Christ Church (Corner Of Toorak & Punt Roads) on Thursday, 1 July. 

OTHER ROTARY NEWS 

North Brighton Rotary were busy packing the last toiletry kits for children at the Yueduma School, NT., as part of the Rotary End Trachoma campaign.

Last week, Editor attended the newly formed Rotary Southbank CEO Satellite Club. Seven new members were inducted at 7.00 am using a hybrid fomat, at Hyatt Place, Essendon Fields.
