Around the Bay Raffle won by Alan Trumble
Jim Orchard thanked everyone for purchasing tickets in the annual Rotary Melbourne Around the Bay Raffle supporting the Smith Family Learning for Life Program. Alan Trumble was the lucky winner of a $2000 voucher for purchase of bicycles and bicycle accessories donated by My Ride Collingwood 192 Wellington St Collingwood.

Recruiting Mentors NOW for Victoria Police - Reminder
Rotary Melbourne together with Rotary Central Melbourne and a range of other Victorian Clubs have provided experienced Mentors each year to Victoria Police. The programme has been highly successful. Both mentors and mentees have enjoyed the exchange of experience and insights gained. Mentoring contact is approximately one to two hours per month.
COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Study
The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity is participating in an international study of an experimental mRNA COVID vaccine. They are looking for healthy adult volunteers who have not received a COVID vaccine. Reimbursement will be provided for your travel and time. PP Robert Fisher provided up an update on this Rotary Melbourne R100 project. Excellent progress is now being made with this project, despite the pandemic set-backs.
Service to Seniors Award Nominations Reminder
One of the Club's Annual Awards is the Service to Seniors Award made to a person whose outstanding service for seniors in a voluntary capacity is judged to have made a positive difference to the lives of seniors.

International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (of which Rotary Melbourne Dr Tilman Ruff is co-president) will be hosting an important web event, "Eliminating the Existential Threat of Nuclear Weapons" September 30, at 11 AM EDT (unfortunately 1 am in Melbourne).
NGV Visit 2021 - Cancelled
The Rotary Melbourne organised lecture and visit to the NGV 2021 Melbourne Winter Masterpieces French Impressionism: From the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston on Friday 17th September, unfortunately has had to be cancelled due to covid. Members who had paid to attend have been reimbursed.
