To all Rotary members I am delighted to pass on my warmest best wishes for a happy, prosperous and safe 2022.    

Melbourne Rotary welcomed and inducted Prabal Soans, Implementation Director Finance Applications ELMO Software, into the Club on 15 December 2021, with the classification IT-Management. Prabal is excited about his new beginning with Rotary Melbourne and is looking forward to his participation in the Club activities.    

Melbourne Rotary welcomed and inducted Sue Smith, CEO, SME Defence, into the Club on 15 December 2021, with the classification Associations - Management. Sue is looking forward to joining Rotary Melbourne with its amazing diversity of people and the wide variety of interesting projects. 

Club News  

Over the past few weeks we have become very aware of the situation regarding the spread of Covid within the community and the impact this is having on everyone. Through his medical supplies business President Elect nominee (2023/24) Dr Chris Sotiropoulos has access to significant quantities of ATAGI approved Rapid Antigen Tests.     

Garry Higgins OAM, President of the Rotary Club of Maryborough was invited by Dorothy Gilmour to speak at the November Rotary Safe Families Champions meeting on Rotary Maryborough’s ‘SayNo2familyviolence’ campaign.

The Rotary Melbourne International Women's Day Breakfast, in partnership with Rotary Brighton North will be rescheduled to later in the year when hopefully the COVID situation will be more safe and we have greater confidence in arranging large events.    

EMDR Therapy Training for East Gippsland Mental Health First Responders was conducted in Bairnsdale Victoria on 26-27 November 2021.   

District News  

District Governor Dale Hoy has provided the attached official statement from Rotary International about the COVID-19 vaccination policy. This has been forwarded to every District Governor across the Rotary world to help to provide some clarity about the issues involved and the stance taken by Rotary.   

A reminder to save the date of Friday 22 to Sunday 24 April 2022 for the District Conference to be held in Albury.
