Rotary Melbourne congratulates member Prof Susan Davis AO on her recent award of the College Medal 2022.     

Thank you to Rodney Smith for advising Rotary Melbourne that an esteemed past member, John Nathan, passed away around 15 May, a few days short of his 98 birthday. He was a member of the Bayside Group. Rodney remembers that John led one of the early Group Study teams to Canada.

Rotary Melbourne is honoured to have Australia’s Chief Scientist, Dr Cathy Foley AO PSM, give the 6th Thomas Baker Oration on Wednesday 15 June 2022 at the Sofitel function area.       

A reminder it is Annual Appeal time.  Your donation is essential and valued and will support the Club’s projects and activities some of those are shown in the image on the right. Consider the impact your donation will have on the lives of less fortunate.

Cathy Roth OAM, National Chairman of PALZ (Professionals with Alzheimer’s and related diseases) was presented with Rotary Melbourne's Seniors Award for 2022 at our meeting last Wednesday 18 May. The Seniors Award is presented to a person who has given outstanding service in a voluntary capacity to older people.

Report on the recent Rotary International Council on Legislation has been received from the District 9800 representative Murray Verso. Governance Chair Tony Greenwood summarises.    

Better Together 🤝 This week (16-22 May) we're celebrating volunteers as part of National Volunteer Week.

D9800’s new Rotary MentorMatch Program function next Thursday 26 May.         

The District 9800 Assembly forum annually is essential training for incoming Club chairs, project leaders and office bearers.

The Rotarians Against Malaria (RAM) District position in D9800 is now vacant. Southern Region is seeking a suitable candidate to email an ‘Expressions of Interest’ for this position to the Southern Region Supervisor Gloria Hargreaves. See attached info.
