Vale Alistair Urquhart

It is with great sadness that Rotary Melbourne advises the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Alistair Urquhart. Alistair passed away on the weekend and more details will be provided when known.

Cathy & Peter Rogers reached the Nindygully Pub last week. It is the oldest continuously licenced pub in Queensland (since 1864).        

 

 

Ian G Jones Memorial

Some Rotary Melbourne members may not have been able to attend our colleague Ian Jones Memorial on 10 July. PP Kevin Sheehan gave the Rotary Melbourne Eulogy which is attached HERE.    

 

 

Seven Women Hand Over to Local Ownership

Stephanie Woollard has advised that after 17 years into starting and growing Seven Women, the time has come for her to hand it over to the capable Nepali staff to carry the future vision forward under the new name of their choice Sungabha Nepal. They are hosting their monthly update next week on Wednesday 19 July at 7pm

RedR & Rotary Melbourne Tonga Project Update

Rotary Melbourne have received a RedR video which brings alive the importance and success of the Tonga humanitarian training program that was run in Tonga a couple of months ago.      

 

 

Volunteering Opportunity - Providing Transport Assistance

David Kram is seeking expressions of interest from Rotary Melbourne Members who might be interested in taking Charlotte Hornauer and her tuba to lessons and rehearsals on a number of occasions during her NGSE exchange visit from Germany.      

 

 

Vocational Service Award 2023/24 – Call for Nominations

Nominations for the Rotary Melbourne Vocational Service Award are now open and members are invited to submit names of qualified community leaders who have demonstrated distinguished Vocational Service by 31 August 2023.       

 

 

Hush Gathering of Kindness on Sunday 29 October 23

The Hush Foundation is holding a concert on 29 October and Rotary Melbourne members will have an opportunity to preview this event at our upcoming evening Cocktail Party on Wednesday 13 September at the Lyceum Club - please Save the Date.
