As you know, we had Helen Durham AO (CEO RedR) as our guest speaker a couple of weeks ago at the Rotary Melbourne lunch. She mentioned a training course to be held on 20 October 23,which members may be interested in attending.     

So Melbourne Rotarians, we need you to think about your networks and encourage nominations for the Sir John Reid award. You must know some volunteer who hasn't been acknowledged despite lots of great efforts.

The Rotary Melbourne Arts Committee is organising a visit to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Deborah Cheetham Fraillon’s cantata Eumeralla on this Saturday 14 October. This is your last chance to book.          

On Friday evening 6 October 2023 16 Rotary Melbourne members and friends attended the lecture and visit to the NGV 2023 Melbourne Winter Masterpieces - Pierre Bonnard by India Mahdavi. Pierre Bonnard is one of the most beloved painters of the twentieth century, celebrated for his use of colour to convey an exquisite sense of emotion.     

Group Leader of Central 1 Group provided a write up on the fellowship dinner at Naughtons Hotel yesterday (3 Oct 23).      

At last week's Rotary Melbourne meeting on Wednesday 4 October was HAT DAY for Australian Rotary Health Lift the Lid on Mental Health.        

On  Monday 2 October 23, our Make A House a Home project (MAHAH) delivered 10 sets (20 tea-chest boxes) of new homeware to Launch Housing’s front line offices in Dandenong and St Kilda.        

District News

On 3 October 23 the Regionalisation Pilot announced the candidates for the first Regional Council in Zone 8 — that is Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.
