Rotary SAFE Families’ Inclusive Communities Initiative visits SBS Radio Somalia
Last Friday morning 16 Feb 24, with a special invitation from SBS Somalia Producer Hassan Jama, Dorothy Gilmour (Rotary Hawthorn) along with Ahmed Tohow and Peter Berg both Rotary Melbourne members were given the opportunity to talk about Rotary SAFE Families Inclusive Communities Initiative with CALD communities[1] (a partnership between Rotary Melbourne and Rotary Hawthorn) for the Somalian radio/podcast program on SBS.

Second Bite Prahran Market Sunday 11 February 24
Our Rotary Melbourne volunteers help eliminate food waste and provide much needed healthy food for disadvantaged families in Melbourne with weekly food collections for SecondBite at Prahran Market. PP Phil Endersbee spoke at Rotary Club of Rosebud-Rye 14 Feb 24
A couple of weeks ago PP Phil got an email from one of our wonderful past members, Heather Barton, who retired to the Peninsula but kept up her involvement with Rotary. Heather is now the President of the Rotary Club of Rosebud-Rye and given my ongoing interest in homelessness and social housing asked if I would mind addressing her Club on the topic.
Taylor Swift comes to Melbourne
‘Big week of events in Melbourne last week. You never know who you might run into!’ The posts on Rotary Melbourne social media generated and bit more buzz than we anticipated! We'd love Taylor Swift to be at our next Rotary meeting, but she does have a bit on right now here in Melbourne. As of now, she won't be joining us at Rotary. But you never know!
