Arts Committee Invitation – an Opera Premiere
The Arts Committee is thrilled to promote young Melbourne composer May Lyon’s new one-act opera, Pieces of Margery, premiering on 15 June 2024. May is an emerging talent whose orchestral compositions are already performed by the MSO.
Rotary SAFE Families participated in District 9790 Conference in Shepparton
Rotary SAFE Families had a stand and a presentation, by Dorothy Gilmour, this weekend at the Rotary District 9790 Conference in Shepparton. This follows on from representation at the District 9800 Conference in Bendigo last weekend. The important information messages in the Rotary SAFE Families Prevention of Family Abuse Guide resonates with the hosting of an inaugural National Family Violence Symposium.
MITS April 24 Newsletter
MITS (Melbourne Indigenous Transition School) has shared their latest newsletter here. Edward Tudor, Executive Director noted 'Term 2 is underway with cooler Melbourne weather, junior football and a very exciting term ahead. Our students are continuing their excellent work inside the classroom, including our Senior students who will soon be preparing for exams. There is also much excitement around upcoming Reconciliation Week and AFL Dreamtime at the 'G just around the corner.'

Victoria’s Reusable Crate Trial Aims to Cut Single-Use Packaging
The Victoria Unboxed project is swapping cardboard boxes for reusable crates to tackle ‘invisible’ waste in Melbourne’s fresh produce supply chain.
