President Chris relayed the following message at lunch last week. “Sad news from the Balwyn Group that stalwart and wife of deceased Community Welfare Committee legend Lawton Cooke has passed away on 8 May 24. Lyn and Lawton opened their home to members on a regular basis for friendship and you may remember Lawton blocking your path with his walker as you arrived directing you to the raffle for a chance to win his birthday whiskey."
