Last Week's Evening Conversation 10 July 24

The Rotary Melbourne Evening Conversation on Wednesday 10 July 24 was an Interclub Visit on zoom with Rotary Passport Club of Melbourne. Twelve Rotary Melbourne members tuned into the Rotary Passport changeover zoom meeting on Wednesday 10 July 24, which attracted a total of 47 participants.

Lighthouse Foundation's home opening in Melbourne' south-east

Key players in Victoria’s construction industry are making a difference to the lives of vulnerable young people by raising funds and completing the building and renovation of the first Australian safe home in Melbourne’s south-east that was officially opened by the Mayor, City of Stonnington, Cr Joe Gianfriddo and Lighthouse’s CEO and key stakeholders on Wednesday 10 July 24.      

 

 

 

Rotary Peace Fellow alumnus video

The Alumni Association of Rotary Peace Fellows in the Southeast Asian region is a very active bunch of early and mid-career professionals who are keen to engage with the Rotary Clubs in the Melbourne region and District 9800.  Dr Carol Bond, Director - International Service - is also a Peace Fellow alumna and active with this group.        

 

 

NGV Visit 2024 - The Pharaohs - Book Now

BOOKINGS NOW OPEN: Rotary Melbourne is organising a lecture and visit to the NGV 2024 Melbourne Winter Masterpieces - The Pharaohs on Friday 9 August 2024. The NGV has partnered with the British Museum to present Pharaoh, a landmark exhibition that celebrates three thousand years of ancient Egyptian art and culture.        

 

 

Rotary SAFE Families 2024

In Victoria in the year ending March 2024, family violence reported to police had increased by 3% on the year to March 2023, with almost 96,000 incidents recorded.       

 

 

Donations in Kind Open Day - BOOK NOW

The store will be open for all Rotarians and friends to visit and exclaim at the treasure trove which is available for clubs to use for their humanitarian projects. Saturday 10 August @ 10am.

Secretary General of Rotary international, John Hewko’s, is a compelling address at the 2024 Singapore RI Convention is a must-see for us all.  John made a compelling case for change in Rotary powerfully illustrating technological and social developments in his address.    Click here to view It runs for 15 minutes.

The Ozone Layer is Recovering Faster than we Expected

In a recent study, scientists have found that harmful gases responsible for depleting the ozone layer were declining ahead of schedule.
