Dr Dimitrios Salampasis attends Athens Democracy Forum 24

Rotary Melbourne member Dr Dimitrios Salampasis attended the recent Athens Democracy Forum 24: A moment of truth organised by The Democracy & Culture Foundation in association with The New York Times and in cooperation with the Kofi Annan Foundation and the City of Athens, Greece.      

 

 

Walk With Us to end Polio 2024 - Update #3

Support PP Robert Fisher - Robert has covered 150km since 1 October 24, so half way to his target. Wonderful supporters have helped raise $4,639 which will become three times that thanks to the Gates Foundation.

For Change Co. Update

Rotary Melbourne kickstarted For Change Co.'s "Catering for Change" pilot in 2022, helping 15 young people facing homelessness. Now a thriving catering business, two members of Rotary Melbourne met at their buzzing Middle Park cafe with For Change Co Founder Tenille Gilbert and CEO Miranda Campbell to explore future support.         

 

 

Smith Family Raffle 2024 - Reminder

Please don't forget to support the Smith Family Raffle for 2024 

Win $2,000 cycling equipment voucher from My Ride Collingwood supporting the Smith Family's Learning for Life Program for families needing support to fund the education of their children.  It will be drawn on Wednesday 30 October at noon in the Office.              

 

 

Bionics Institute Alzheimer's clinical trial

Clinical trial investigating new treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease
The Bionics Institute is seeking adults aged 50 to 85 years who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease to participate in a clinical trial investigating a new treatment using non-invasive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).     

 

 

Rotary Melbourne at The Melbourne Marathon

Rotary Melbourne has been supporting The Smith Family's Learning for Life Program for nearly 20 years. At this year's Melbourne Marathon, on the morning of Sunday 13th October 24, twenty volunteers kept 40,000 runners hydrated in the shadows of the MCG.  

 

 

 

Around The Bay Bicycle event 6 Oct 24 - Final Update

Six Rotary Melbourne members and friends completed the Around The Bay in a Day Bicycle 2024 event on Sunday 6th October 2024. Funds raised by Rotary Melbourne will help fund The Smith Family’s - Learning for Life Program.   

 

 

MITS 24 Gala Dinner: Tickets on Sale NOW

The 2024 Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS) Gala Dinner will be held on Thursday 24 October 24. An unforgettable evening of inspiration and celebration in support of MITS. Tickets on sale now.

Rotary - The Big Serve Melbourne 2024 Final Reminder

The event is The Big Serve Melbourne 2024 (“BSN”) will be held on Sunday, 27th October, 2024.  This is a community day, designed to bring as many people together as possible to connect and have fun.  It will be held at the Maribyrnong Park Tennis Club, Moonee Ponds. It is a community day, in support of mental health, any funds that are raised will go to three mental health support agencies, one of which is the Trauma Recovery Network Australia.  The other two agencies have yet to be decided, there are so many that are worthy of support.

Special invitation | Calgary Convention, 21-25 June 2025

Next June 2025, Rotarians from across the world will be gathering in Calgary for the annual Rotary International Convention (21-25 June). This event will bring together change makers from diverse backgrounds and cultures to connect, share impactful ideas, and experience the vibrant culture of Calgary.
