Member News

Rotary Melbourne welcomed and inducted Andrew Morrice on 27 November 2024 with the classification CEO - Information Technology. Andrew has a Golden Retriever (Teddy) who keeps him fit, he enjoys bike riding and has completed the around-the-bay in a day twice and likes the idea of starting at Portsea!            

At the Rotary Melbourne meeting on Wedesday 27 November 24 PP Bob Glindemann was presented with a Paul Harris Fellow 3 Ruby pin by PP Reg Smith, on behalf of the Club, in recognition of his service above self to Rotary.

My involvement with DIK started sometime after Timor Leste gained its Independence in 2002 when the West Footscray store had started to ship all manner of supplies to Timor, and they sought some assistance in packing containers. That started my long involvement with Donations in Kind of over 20 years and it is impossible to capture in a few paragraphs the multitude of activities and my involvement but more importantly the great service this project delivers.

Club News

Rotary Melbourne's Christmas Appeal recipient in 2024 is Western Chances. Through scholarships, opportunity programs, and ongoing support, we don’t just help young people achieve their goals - we empower them to return to their communities with knowledge, skills, and hope. Please make a special Christmas donation this year.

In Harare, Zimbabwe, a 90-year-old residence has been gifted and transformed into The Friendship Bench Hub, a wellness centre fostering mental health and resilience. Supported by Rotary Melbourne, this inspiring project promotes community connection through innovative therapies and training, offering hope in challenging times.  

Janet, a South Yarra Resident has provided Rotary Melbourne with her thoughts about the Rotary Melbourne Peace Park.

Iqbal Reta has provided the attached report on the Rotary Melbourne Central 1 & 2 met at the RACV for dinner on Wednesday 27 November 24.    

Rotary Melburne Malvern Group held its festive dinner at Grazia, Bourke Road, East Malvern on Monday 25 November 24. Fifteen members enjoyed convivial fellowship and fine food.

Your empty blister packs can now be dropped off for free at locations across the country. After a successful trial across 100 Chemist Warehouse pharmacies in Victoria last year, Chemist Warehouse and Pharmacycle have teamed up with Codral® to roll out a national recycling program for blister packs around the country.
