Rotary Melbourne welcomed and inducted Patricia (Tita) von Matuschka on 26 March 2025 with the classification Economics – MacroeconomicsFor Tita, the Rotary motto "Service Above Self" is more than a statement – it is a personal conviction and a guiding principle.

Happy years are ahead for Sam McLarty, Bionics Institute, who married Mairead on Saturday 8 March 25. 

 

Celebration of David Jones’ life

The celebration of David Jones’ life was held at his beloved MCG on Tuesday 25 March, attended by some 200 friends. The vibe in the room was really positive, with many amusing anecdotes being recounted to the audience’s great delight.

PP Robert Fisher received an update from Manoel Felipe Marques, who has returned home to Sao Paulo, Brazil and is working as Chief of Staff at the Cruzeiro City Council.

Volunteer for Run the Tan

Our next big Club event is here! Run the Tan 2025 on Sunday 27 April  25 is all about raising awareness and funds for mental health. Whether you're keen to run or walk alongside elite athletes and TEAM ROTARY or support as a volunteer, there's a way for everyone to get involved. We need your help to come together for a great cause and make a real difference!

 

Go Pies Meet in the Heartland

Last Thursday, 27 March 25,  the Club’s GO PIES met for breakfast in the Collingwood heartland adjacent to the original VICTORIA PARK.

MC for the meeting was Bernie McIntosh who opened proceedings in the customary manner.  President Catherine was unable to attend due to a Military Reserve event at the Avalon Air Show, and Vice President PP Mary Barry deputised to preside over the meeting and deliver the loyal toast.
