Robert Doyle AC was elected in 2008, 2012 and 2016 and is the longest serving Lord Mayor of Melbourne.
Robert Doyle is a Principal at The Nous Group, a management consultancy business based in Melbourne and since 2007 has been Chairman of Melbourne Health (The Royal Melbourne Hospital).
Robert is President of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation, Chairman of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Foundation and a Trustee of the Shrine of Remembrance. Robert is also an Ambassador for Odyssey House, an Ambassador for SecondBite, an event champion for Field of Women, an Ambassador for the White Ribbon Day Foundation, an Ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and an ex-officio Board member of the Cancer Council Victoria, ex-officio Co-Vice President of the Royal Humane Society of Australia and an ex-officio member of the Melbourne Art Trust, while also including Honorary President of the Melbourne Region of the Scout Association and a Board member of the Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC) Ltd.
In 2010 Robert was made a Fellow of Monash University and in 2016 was conferred with an Honorary Doctor of Laws, also from Monash University. The 2017 Queen’s Birthday Honours List saw Robert awarded the Companion of the Order of Australia (AC).
Robert is a committee member of the United Nations Advisory Committee of Local Authorities (UNACLA). Robert is an Advisory Board Member of the World Economic Forum (Davos).
A Member of Victoria’s Parliament for 14 years, Robert was Leader of the Opposition and Leader of the Liberal Party for four years. He has also been Shadow Minister for Health and in Government, Parliamentary Secretary for Health.
