Membership in Rotary Melbourne offers unique networking opportunities, including connections with universities and business leaders, alongside meaningful community involvement.

Getting Started: Steps to Membership

  1. Come Along to One of Our Events
    Join us at a lunch or evening meeting, or participate in a volunteering activity to experience what Rotary Melbourne is all about. Check out our Events Page for upcoming opportunities to connect with our members and see our community efforts in action.

  2. Express Your Interest
    Once you’re ready, complete our Expression of Interest (EOI) form. If you need guidance, please reach out - we’re here to assist.

  3. Find Your Sponsor
    Your sponsor may be Peter Rogers or Adrian Nelson, both of whom you’ve met. They’ll assist you through the process and support your membership goals.

  4. Submit Required Documentation
    Along with your EOI form, please provide:

    • Digital Photo: A head-and-shoulders photo for our Member Directory.
    • Working with Children Check: Required for all Rotary Melbourne volunteers. Apply online as a Rotary Melbourne volunteer at Working with Children Check Victoria if you don’t already have one.
    • CV: Share your professional background and expertise.

If you wish to proceed to become a member, please complete our Expression of Interest Form,

Once we receive these documents, your sponsor will guide you through the next steps, including a meeting with a Membership Review Committee (MRC) member. After that, your interest will be posted within the club, and once cleared, your sponsor will arrange an induction date with you.


Induction and Welcome to the Rotary Melbourne

Upon approval, you’ll attend a lunch meeting at the Sofitel Hotel on Collins as our guest, where you’ll be formally inducted by the Club President. You’ll also be paired with a Mentor to support you through the early stages of your membership, connecting you with areas and members of interest.


Attend Our Meetings or Events

While your application is being processed, we invite you to join our weekly meetings:

  • Weekly Meetings

    • When: Wednesdays at 12:50 PM (doors open at 12:30 PM)
    • Where: 35th Floor Restaurant, Sofitel Hotel on Collins, 25 Collins St, Melbourne
    • What: Includes a two-course meal, soft drink, and coffee; other drinks available at bar prices
    • Dress Code: Business - Smart Casual
    • Booking: Cash or credit card on the day, or pre-book via Humanitix

  • Monthly Evening Meetings

    • Held on the second Wednesday each month, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, typically at a central or nearby venue.

To ensure you’re ready for membership, please:

  1. Attend one of our events to get acquainted with Rotary Melbourne.
  2. Apply for the Working with Children Check.
  3. Complete and submit the Expression of Interest form.
  4. Provide a CV.
  5. Submit a head-and-shoulders photo for our directory.
