Luke was born in country South Australia and educated at Xavier College, Kew and Melbourne University, completing degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science in 2005. He completed further studies in a Masters of Business Administration while living in Canberra at Australian National University in 2013.
Luke is an experienced infrastructure professional with over a decade of experience in policy, technology and business strategy, project management and organisational and process optimisation in asset intensive sectors. He also has extensive experience leading multidiscipline teams for large-scale complex infrastructure investments, accountable for delivering and managing multiple concurrent projects from pre-business case development through to operational handover and asset management.
Luke has had a diverse background having worked in a variety of key roles; Manager of Major Projects at the Department of Premier and Cabinet (Vic), Associate Director at PwC and EY, as a Project Manager and Business Improvement Manager for Icon Water (Canberra) and as a Lead Engineer for ThyssenKrupp (a large global engineering consultancy in the oil and gas and petrochemical industry).
Luke and his wife Lena enjoy most weekends renovating their house, gardening or spending time outdoors or with family and friends. Luke’s great grandfather, Berkeley Vaughan was a lifetime member of Rotary and was a huge influence on Luke in his early life. It is this influence and a desire to contribute more broadly to society that prompted Luke to pursue an interest in Rotary.
He is a chartered member of Engineers Australia, occasional project management judge for the Australian Institute of Project Management and lecturer and presenter on infrastructure or project management. Luke is a member of Central 1 Group.
