The Male Bag Foundation are currently raising funds to enable the purchase of Trans Perinial Biopsy machines for placement in Public Rural Regional Hospitals. These machines greatly improve the lives of men dealing with prostate related issues.
Phil and his team of at least two dozen riders completed 2,800 km over the past week travelling through Victoria and New South Wales, one kilometre for every death from this cancer over the past year. Whilst the amount raised is yet to be published, the effort was well received in rural towns where welcoming receptions were arranged by local communities. The riders were also received at Parliament House by the Prime Minister as they travelled through Canberra.
Phil wrote from Shepparton on Sunday before returning to Melbourne home: "The Male Bag riders who have ridden 2800km for Prostate Cancer pulled into Shep today and all were hosted for lunch by Pres Jenni Simms (Centre front) of Shepparton Rotary at her home. How good is that!"
Places stopped at included: Nagambie, Corowa, Bathurst Canberra, Wagga Wagga, Parkes, Griffith and Deniliquin .... all on a Postie's bike!
