Mike Hirst joined the Bank in 2001 and has worked across most areas of the business including the positions of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Retail Bank prior to becoming Managing Director in 2009.

A career banker with broad experience in retail banking, finance, planning, treasury and financial markets, Mike is Deputy Chairman of Australian Bankers’ Association Council, a Director of Racing Victoria and a member of the Business Council of Australia. Mike also sits on the advisory boards for the Centre for Workplace Leadership, Skilling the Bay and GROW21. He was previously a Director of Treasury Corporation of Victoria, Barwon Health, Colonial First State and Austraclear and a member of the Federal Government’s Financial Sector Advisory Council.

A keen AFL fan, he is a life member of Sydney University ANFC.
