 Speaking on "The Vital Role of the Arts in Melbourne".

 

Claire commenced at Arts Centre Melbourne as CEO in November 2014. Since then, she has steered the organisation through a major restructure to better position them for the future and to assist with its role as a leader in the cultural precinct and as a major contributor to Victoria’s creative economy

 

Prior to Arts Centre Melbourne, Claire was at the Sydney Opera House for 12 years – her last role being Chief Operating Officer responsible for Precinct Businesses (Food and Beverage, Tours & Retail), Finance, IT, People and Culture, Legal, Strategy and Risk Management. Previously Claire worked at EY London and Cable & Wireless (London / Sydney).

 

Claire is a Member of Chief Executive Women - representing Australia’s most senior women leaders from the corporate, public service, academic and not-for-profit sectors.

 

She is on the Executive Council of Live Performance Australia.

 

And she is on the Board of The Pinnacle Foundation, who provide scholarships and mentoring support to lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and intersex students who are marginalised or disadvantaged.

 

She is a member of the Federal Government’s Australia–Singapore Arts Group that meets regularly to provide advice and recommendations around an ongoing program of cultural activities in both countries to enhance our cultural relations, develop professional skills and cultivate audiences.

Claire is married with three children.
