Mr Greg Davies APM,  Victorian Victims of Crime Commissioner

Speaking on ‘Offenders and Victims: The Imbalance’. 

 

Greg Davies was appointed as Victoria’s first Victims of Crime Commissioner in October 2014. Prior to his appointment he had been a police officer for 37 years and the Secretary (CEO) of the Police Association for the final six of those years.

 

His operational experience involved policing at Footscray, Frankston, Prahran,St. Kilda and Regional and rural Victoria.   He is the third of four direct generations of Victoria Police officers and his family has given more than 110 years of continuous service to the Victorian community.

 

He has been awarded the Australian Police Medal, the National Police Service Medal, the National Medal, the Victoria Police Medal and has been commended for bravery by the Royal Humane Society of Australasia.

 

He has qualifications in Management and Risk Management and he has a history in playing, coaching and administering sport, particularly football and cricket.   He is currently Vice Chair of the AFL (Vic) Goldfields Commission.

 

Married for 35 years he has three children and two grandchildren.
