Laura Cavallo, Chief Executive, Destinations Melbourne

Laura Cavallo is Chief Executive of Destination Melbourne, an independent tourism organisation for the Greater Melbourne region. The organisation’s vision is to maximise Melbourne’s visitor potential by championing visitors’ needs, the visitor experience and the visitor industry.

Laura’s career spans over 20 years’ in strategic planning, destination marketing, cultural promotion, business events, brand and corporate communications and crisis management across the visitor economy sector.

Destination Melbourne works in collaboration with Melbourne’s visitor industry, key stakeholders and industry partners to encourage businesses to provide the best possible visitor experiences and a seamless visitor journey from arrival to departure.

Currently Laura is leading a strategic city-wide project, the development of the Greater Melbourne Destination Management Visitor Plan, which aims to improve and increase the city’s visitor economy capacity, product opportunities and initiatives for the next 10 years.

Laura is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has a postgraduate degree in Marketing (RMIT) and a Bachelor of Arts degree (University of Melbourne). Laura is also a business member of the Inner Melbourne Metropolitan Partnership, which advises the Victorian Government on strategic business and community issues and needs.
