The Rotary SAFE Families Inclusive Communities Initiative is focused on providing prevention of abuse information via printed translated Guides and films, to our many CALD (culturally diverse Australian communities). It now includes materials for Melbourne's Greek community.

In 2017, Rotary Melbourne signed an MOU with the Minister for Education in Timor Leste for the publication and shipment of a series of books written by Kirsty Sword Gusmao, Timor’s first lady to enhance the opportunities for school children in Timor to have access to publications in Tetun and Portuguese for reading. Several books were written, published, and sent to Timor via Donations In Kind (DIK).

Robert, Sue & Reg, had a good Second Bite 🍎🥦🥖 collection on Sunday 14 January 2024, both in terms of quantity and quality. We had boxes of fruit and vegetables, flowers, deli items, sweet treats and lots of bread. It filled up Reg's station wagon. We then dropped the collection at the Salvation Army the following day due to key staff being on annual leave.

This November, our Health & Ageing committee hosted 30 elderly residents from inner Melbourne at our annual Seniors Launch at Max's Restaurant in Red Hill. Our club has been hosting this lunch for over 20 years via our Health & Ageing Committee and it is funded by our annual Footy Tipping Competition. The guests, many of whom live in public housing, loved being out in nature and with friends.
