In an ambitious effort to unite its members around the world, Rotary Melbourne has announced its participation in the upcoming "Rotary on the Moon" project, an initiative aimed at promoting global peace.
Set to coincide with Rotary’s birthday in February 2025, the project will bring together 1,000 Rotary Clubs worldwide - symbolically uniting them on the moon. The centrepiece of the event will be a Rotary Space Capsule, which will serve as a Beacon of Hope, signifying a collective call for Peace on Earth.
Members of Rotary Melbourne will have photos of our iconic Peace Bells project displayed during a ceremonial Nyx spacecraft flyover over the lunar surface, cementing our club’s involvement in this landmark moment.
We’re excited to join a mission that transcends borders and limitations, embodying the very spirit of Rotary’s work to promote peace, understanding, and friendship.
The project, initiated by Rotary Club of Dr. Phillips Orlando, aims to unite Rotarians globally by placing this profound message in a location without borders - on the moon itself.
