NOVEMBER MEMBERSHIP EVENT

This terrific event includes the following presenters:

POSITIVE ENERGY FOR A BETTER WORLD

When humans feel better - feel more positive - they help create a better world.

So what is Rotary’s role in shaping humanity’s collective spirit: to build positive energy to create a better world?

Rotary is proud to address humanity-wide challenges: ending polio is our most well-known example. And we’re making progress on trachoma, clean water and more.

So perhaps our next challenge will be to help humanity build our collective positive energy to address local and global challenges?

Join us on November 16th to discuss building positive energy and to hear from three global examples of Rotarians who have helped make this happen.

In this session you will:

- Be intrigued and inspired by the amazing stories of three amazing Rotarians with a global focus

- Consider how Rotary can build physical, mental and spiritual capacity as we empower people worldwide

- Contribute to the discussion of the new world of Rotary: our vision of a global movement for 2030 and beyond

- Learn about leadership and transformation and how you might shape your next steps for positive energy in a better world.

Stephanie Woollard OAM

 CEO and Founder, Seven Women

CEO and Founder, Hands on Development

Stephanie’s story is a stunning example of how one person can make a difference with passion and persistence. Steph’s desire to create change from a young age has led to global success, recognition and thought leadership that inspires others to reach their potential.

On a trip to Nepal, a 22 year-old Stephanie stumbled across 7 disabled women living in a tin shed and heard their stories of suffering and discrimination. Using her last $200, she paid for trainers for the women to learn new skills, which in turn empowered them to earn money, become independent and transform their lives.

Her visionary leadership led her to start an organisation called Seven Women, which has now educated, trained and employed over 6000 disabled and marginalised women in Nepal through education, skills training and employment pathways and recruited hundreds of volunteers who in their engagement with her cause have furthered their own pursuit of purpose and discovering their own potential.

Seven Women is made up of three enterprises include a fair trade manufacturing business that exports fair trade products made by the women internationally, a cooking school and a guesthouse which target the tourist market in Nepal.  Stephanie also leads life changing tours to Nepal for school & university students and service organizations, believing in ‘trade not aid’ and gives examples of how all businesses are in fact our vehicles for creative expression and positive change.

Steph’s passion is to bring together like-minded people and create global communities of love and support where anything is possible through connection, collaboration and co creation. Steph believes energy is the new currency and authentic leadership is the way of the future where people are in tune with their passion and purpose and follow their heart at all costs.

Steph has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for her philanthropy and humanitarian work.  She also has a Masters in Peace and Conflict Research from Uppsala University, Sweden.
