In the wake of devastating natural disasters, the northeastern province of Magsikap Quezon, Philippines has long struggled with a critical lack of access to clean water, affecting over 2,000 households.
An ambitious project led by Rotary Melbourne, in partnership with Greater Marikina Valley, has not only brought a vital water distribution system to the village, Magsikap Health Center, and Magsikap Elementary School, but also implemented a sustainable crop propagation initiative. This dual effort promises both immediate relief and long-term stability, offering the community a path forward amid adversity.

The newly constructed water pipeline not only serves over 2,000 households but also delivers clean water to key public sites, including Magsikap Elementary School, the Magsikap Health Center, and the Barangay village office. Additionally, spring water is now piped directly to 45 homes and four cluster water stations.

Complementing the water system, the livelihood crop propagation program was introduced, boosting local agriculture. To ensure long-term sustainability, sanitation and hygiene training were provided, with active participation from the community and local authorities, creating a model for enduring success in this once-struggling region.
