Rotary Melbourne welcomed and inducted Anne McCormack on 20 November 2024 with the classification CEO - Aged Care. As CEO of mecwacare, Anne is a firm believer in defining human centred models of care, as well as utilising technology and analytics to enhance the lives of the people that receive mecwacare’s services.

Rotary Melbourne is excited to announce our new partnership with Run The Tan, reinforcing our commitment to mental health advocacy. This iconic event is more than just a race - it’s a movement dedicated to raising awareness and funding vital mental health initiatives. We’re calling on our Rotary Melbourne community to get involved! Whether you’re running, walking, or volunteering as a marshall or at our Rotary Melbourne Marquee, every step you take helps break the stigma around mental health.

Join other top Rotary Leaders, Patrons Immediate Past Rotary International President Gordon R. McInally and Past Rotary International Vice President Pat Merryweather-Arges to reduce family violence around the world.       

This year has been a significant one for snakebite care in PNG, and it wouldn’t have been possible without an incredible team. Following is what we achieved together.

AABWA, invite Rotary Melbourne members and friends to the upcoming International Women's Day Luncheon with the theme "Accelerate Action, Drive Change”, bringing together inspiring leaders, change-makers, and organisations to celebrate the achievements of women to advocate for gender equality.       

It will be of no surprise to Rotary Melbourne members that Clive Scott AM and former General Manager of the Sofitel on Collins is a passionate supporter of the Arts and alongside his role as Sofitel Australia’s Arts Ambassador, Clive chairs the Board of the Georges Mora Fellowship.      

On the eve of the third anniversary of the war in Ukraine, John Hewko, General Secretary and CEO of Rotary International, took part in a panel discussion on “Healing the Wounds of War – Visible and Invisible”. Hewko, whose parents fled Ukraine during World War II, visited Ukraine in 2023 and met with fellow Rotarians, observing the profound challenges faced by its people, as well as spending time with relatives. Hewko reflects on the scale of recovery needed in Ukraine.

Jeju Air flight 7C2216 from Bangkok crashed into a runway barrier at Muan International Airport in Korea on 29 December. The crash claimed the lives of 179 passengers, including a Rotary member. One district in Korea organized 2,000 meals a day for emergency first responders. Read how Rotary members responded.
