What a breath of fresh air was zoomed to those who attended last week's Evening Meeting. Cassandra Goodman intrigued and challenged us in her presentation: ‘How connection and the practice of self-fidelity can improve individual and community wellbeing’.

Dr Laura Hart, ARH Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow, Population Mental Health Group University of Melbourne presented outstandingly at last week's Mental Health meeting. Laura's commitment and expertise was key to her address:"Teen Mental Health First Aid". Seventy nine Members and Guests rediscovered fond memories from Kerry Cue's earthy humour and magnetic charisma at last week's Evening Meeting. Note, we were honoured to have guests from so many different countries: Mfuwe Zambia, Africa; Gummersbach Oberberg Germany; Ibadan Onireke Neighborhood Nigeria; Kampala South, Uganda; South Miami, USA.; Sidcup, UK.

What an action packed Zoom lunch meeting we enjoyed last week. Another example of our "connecting" during this difficult time.
Last week's Zoom Meeting was presented by our PP Phil Endersbee, Captain of Groups updating us on ”The outcome of our Member care initiative” and DGE Philip Archer with the topic “The road ahead…can our Rotary emerge stronger from COVID-19? Last week, there were 74 Members including a Rotarian guest from Jamaica: Domenica Pradere who Editor discovered had posted a request to join our meeting via our Rotary Melbourne Facebook page. Replying to her, Jo was advised and voila, it was lovely to have Domenica at our Zoom meeting. This is a positive reinforcement of both our Facebook social media and Zoom!

Our first live presentation was last week when our Honorary Member, Laureate Professor Peter Doherty AC, Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity, spoke on the Impact of the Covid-19 Virus, why flattening the curve matters and how we can best protect ourselves and the community.

What a fascinating presentation we received last week when Professor Len Harrison spoke about microbiemes. From birth canal deliveries, caeserean section deliveries, our gut bacteria and relationships with diseases and immunology - microbiemes are a focal point of our health.
