What a fascinating presentation we received last week when Professor Len Harrison spoke about microbiemes. From birth canal deliveries, caeserean section deliveries, our gut bacteria and relationships with diseases and immunology - microbiemes are a focal point of our health.

Our Final Vocational Service Month Event was a successful Panel Discussion – New Technology and its Impact on our Lives, which comprised three expert Rotary Melbourne members.
Active promotion of our International Women's Day Breakfast is happening to ensure that Rotary Melbourne is strongly represented at the Breakfast given our strategy to substitute this significant Rotary event as our Club meeting for that week.

Welcome and note of appreciation to O.B. Wetzell (pictured here with P Kevin and PE Marion) visiting Rotarian from Patong Beach, Thailand. He announced he will be making a sizeable donation to the D9800 Bushfire Appeal from his Club in appreciation of the support Australia sent when the Tsunami hit Thailand.
Norman Taralrud-Bay did a great service at the Rotary Peace Conference in Toronto Cliffords a week or so ago, thanking Dean Axelrod for Direct Relief’s donation of face masks to assist in the bushfire crisis. Dean is President of RC Santa Barbara who does partnership management for Direct Relief. He was manning the Direct Relief booth at the conference.
