Malcolm Simpson joined the Rotary Club of Melbourne in 1973. Congratulations and thank you Malcolm.
What an experience for all those who attended the Rotary Centenary Baton Launch which was held online from Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and London. There was emotion, inspiration, joy with amazing messages, appreciation and outstanding singing. Nearly 900 Rotarians attended with hundreds of personal messages from attendees around the world. Amazing. Reminder: This event would not have happened without our Hugh Bucknall and his team!
Did you know that Sharann Johnson was one of our very first female Members at Rotary Melbourne. Twenty six years ago, Sharann was inducted on 2 February 1994 under the classification Occupational Hygiene. In the early 1990's, there were eighteen women in a total membership of 269.

Buy and wear R100 Socks as they are so easily paired after washing and will never become "odd" like conveyed in the poem:
There’s no other choice but to wear them,
The drawer offered nothing but these.
An odd pair of socks might be quirky,
Odd sizes don’t normally please.
Mev Connell and his R100 'socks in action' assisting him in towing a caravan to Bairnsdale to provide a temporary home to a bushfire victim. Read more for Mev's comment. Thanks Mev.
It was delightful to watch President Marion Macleod induct her daughter Sarah Macleod-Bourke as a member of Rotary Melbourne at Marion's inaugural weekly meeting. This is a "first" for Rotary Melbourne. We have father/daughter Members but never a mother/daughter. We welcome Sarah and look forward to many years of friendship and sharing projects.
Photo shows a highly respected Member photographed prior to a weekly online meeting. Guess who? Clue: "Upper half was jacketed. lippied and earrings: Zoom suited!" Scroll down to bottom of Bulletin for answer.
Thank you Hugh Bucknall for providing this outstanding report on the rolling out of Rotary 100 Years.
Please use your mute button. Many of us are now Zoom officienados but sometimes we forget about muting and can interrupt a meeting with a comment or maybe a gurgle, cough or a rustling from an unmuted microphone. Please remember to keep it off unless invited to speak. We do enjoy the appearance of a child, cat or dog though. This is all part of our fellowship.

President Marion Macleod's first Wednesday meeting was outstanding. Peter Costello presented his most credible outline of COVID-19 and our future. This fielded many terrific questions from our Members.
