Greg Ross, Australian Chair of Rotary Health has provided an update on Australian Rotary Health since 1981 and its creation.

At last week's meeting, thanks was given by Peter Dakin which was very appropriate in this time of great concern for our elderly citizens.
We have created a Rotary Melbourne Young Achiever Awards' Alumni. So far, we have 20 Young Achiever Awardees who have joined this group. Do you know any of the recipients listed over page? We will not be conquered by COVID-19, and the Around the Bay Team has created a special fundraiser with three events, to raise the $25,000 target that Rotary Melbourne has set, to donate to the disadvantaged children in the Smith Family's "Learning for Life Program". We shall not let these vulnerable children down, especially this difficult year!
The Rotary Zone 8 Conference is going virtual in this year of pandemic. Registration details are over page. Alice Springs, 19 and 20 September, 2020. Zone 8 is situated in the South Pacific and includes the following countries: Australia, New Zealand, American Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Timor Leste, Tonga, Vanuatu.

Rotary Melbourne has been a regular supporter of The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute through our International Committee. Typically this has involved the purchase of specific equipment related to the Institutes Malaria research.
