It was with great sadness President Robert advised us that Lawton Cooke died on Friday 22 December.
VALE PAUL HENNINGHAM - FOUNDER OF ROTARY DOWN UNDER One of the true legends of Rotary in Australia, Past District Governor Paul Henningham OAM died at his home in Springwood on Sunday, December 2nd - aged 97 years.
President Robert has advised the following: "Did you know that 275 Rotarians from 9 countries are visiting Melbourne in January to participate in the 'International Fellowship of Cricketing Rotarians' Melbourne Festival'!"
Visiting R C Central Melbourne's Christmas Meeting, President Neville Taylor spoke warmly about attending our launch of 'Ignite' at Arts Access Victoria. In fact he leased the painting "I Ride My Wheelchair on Our Ancestors' Land" by Greg Muir which was on display (see photo). It normally hangs in Neville's Victoria Police Office.
At our Festive Luncheon Meeting in December, it was fantastic to congratulate Cynthia Edgell for her well-deserved naming as a Paul Harris Fellow. Cynthia's support and energy in so many areas of Rotary and our Club has been sensational.
