Katharine Brown who was nominated by RC Melbourne, has been successful in being awarded a Rotary District Postgraduate Global Scholarship to study for Masters of Law at prestigious Duke University in North Carolina starting in August. This Scholarship is worth $US30,000 and goes towards Katharine's fees.
Katharine has an Honours Degree in Law plus an Arts Degree from Monash University. She is working for the Victorian Solicitor General on human rights issues as well as being Vice President of Liberty Victoria which is an extraordinary achievement for such a “young” person.
Duke University hosts the US Rotary Peace Center so she will meet other Rotary Scholars from around the world and possibly take some study with them.
Katharine is the third Global Postgraduate Scholar successfully nominated by our Club with Lien Trinh (Optometrist) and Tess Bright (Audiologist) being the others.
