"The R100 team is focused on marking the Centenary of Rotary in 2021, not just for our Club, but also all Rotary activities across Australia and New Zealand. Many things are being incubated to both celebrate the centenary but also create legacy projects that will take us into the second century of community service. So ideas are being created, their viability is tested and then spun off to dedicated teams who then bring the idea to fruition. Some of those are sponsored by RC Melbourne, some by other Clubs or Districts, some are multi district events and some are simply championed by inspired individuals.
Examples of what is already underway include A Grand Event to mark the first Rotary meeting on 21st April 2021, a joint international project focused on health issues across Pacific nations, commemorative stamps and coins, a baton relay reaching all clubs, hosting an International Peace Forum, hosting a global Rotary Convention and many, many more. Our aim is to raise awareness of our historic achievements, celebrate the moment and inspire new projects that launch us into the next century of service."
