Manuela writes "I'm on a mission: To disrupt the disgrace of homelessness amongst my peers in this rich country we live in! Women supporting women. It's my platform and my passion: affordable housing for those of us that never could've anticipated let alone prepared for first-time homelessness in our 50s! I am the face of the new homeless of Australia!"
Educated in Melbourne, Switzerland and Los Angeles, Manuela worked as an International Model spanning a decade in eight countries, fortunately investing the proceeds into residential property. Manuela segued from modelling into studying Broadcast Journalism at U.C.L.A, working towards her college credit as an Intern on the Paramount Pictures Lot at Entertainment Tonight, and in both Australian Networks 7 & 9 L.A. Bureaus.
A weekly spot on Radio 3AW Melbourne via phone from L.A. covering the U.S. Presidential Primary Race and the controversial L.A. riots as well as general news and entertainment items ensued. She added KIX-FM Canberra to the weekly blend as Entertainment Correspondent, and co-hosted a daily 2-hour drive-time Dining and Entertaining show live from local K-WIZ-FM L.A.
She simultaneously created a concept show called AussiAntix!, co-sponsored by the Australian Tourist Commission and Qantas Airways, as Executive Producer, and Host. It was well received and landed her a dream job in Sydney: A daily Arts and Entertainment show on prime time where she was Host and Co-producer, returning her to her native Australia.
An obsessive, genuine in-depth lifelong passion for property has underscored every aspect of her life. She has bought, sold, renovated and built from scratch 3- level townhouses with roof top gardens, sprawling resort-style beach houses and even a bathing box! She is a fully Licensed Residential Property Advisor, relishing finding the right property for home-buyers and investors.
Manuela is passionate about a project she is developing "Behind Smiling Eyes” which aims to raising awareness, referral support, resources and fundraising towards the alarming rise of homeless women 50+ years old in Australia, a demographic firmly in #1 position of homelessness statistics. Manuela will join the Central 2 Group and her mentor will be Austen Burleigh.
