Mt Washington recorded the highest wind speed of 231 miles per hour in 1934 which is the highest wind speed manually collected before modern instrumentation. This must be some sort of record for the R100 socks in this meteorological historic location. The summit is normally covered in cloud however someone was kind to us and it cleared as we reached the top.
